In the 1930's, Eunice Ingham decided that she could bring healing to the whole body by working the feet. Some applied kinesiologists prescribe medicine by placing it in a patient's hand and then feeling the patient's muscles. If the muscles are strong, they say the medicine is correct. Acupuncturists try to work on a patient's internal organs by manipulating needles under the skin. In the eighteenth century, Samuel Hahnemann developed a system of treatment based on the theory that like treats like. To a patient with a stuffy nose he would give a substance that would produce a stuffy nose in a healthy person. Interesting. But would God have us use these alternative medicines when we are sick, or if we think we might get sick? Shouldn't we treat health care like any other purchase? Shouldn't we find out some facts about a therapy before we become involved with it, or spend any money? One way to learn about alternative medicines is to read the literature that promotes them. Rodney mast has done that. he has made many trips to our local library, and brought back stacks of books. You will find a summary of his findings in this book.
